Valves designed to be able to control vacuum or suction are specifically designed for the application and standard valves should not be used. Typically for this application a direct acting & assisted lift solenoid valve with NBR seals should be used as EPDM and Viton can stick and PTFE tends to easily leak especially for larger sizes above 1/2" as PTFE does has very limited elasticity.
