Plastic solenoid valves are typically used for general purpose applications such as air and water. Some plastic solenoid valves can be used with slightly aggressive media such as Reverse Osmosis water systems, De mineralised water and Pure water applications and special Plastic Solenoid Valves with isolated core can be used for strong corrosive aggressive acids and alkali's.
Plastic solenoid valves can be 2 way or 3 way normally closed, normally open or latching bi-stable function, in either direct acting or pressure assisted operation. Plastic valve sizes range from miniature 1/8 BSP through to 2" BSP or NPT port.
Plastic Direct Acting solenoid valves also known as poppet solenoid valves will operate at zero pressure, they are usually compact or miniature and operate quickly. Plastic 2/2-way and 3/2-way versions typically operate up to 8 Bar.
Plastic Servo Assisted Solenoid Valves also known as pilot operated, floating diaphragm or servo (pressure assisted) solenoid valves require a higher inlet pressure to outlet pressure, typically from 0.2 to 0.5 bar, also known as the pressure differential. Typically used for pure water, Reverse Osmosis and Demineralised water applications and offer very good flow rates compared to direct acting or miniature solenoid valves.
Plastic Assisted Lift Solenoid Valves also known as Hung Diaphragm or Kick Pilot Solenoid Valves will operate from zero pressure differential offering the same high flow characteristics of a servo assisted valve. The diaphragm is mechanically attached to the armature/poppet ensuring the valve opens fully regardless of low pressure or vacuum. These are ideally suited to closed loop and gravity fed systems where high flow is required combined with low differential or low working pressures down to even vacuum.
