Stainless steel solenoid valves for general purpose applications in both 2 way and 3 way function are suitable for a wide range of uses including air, oxygen cleaned, vacuum, reverse osmosis or demineralised , pure and distilled water, light oils, slightly aggressive gases and liquids. 2 way and 3 way solenoid valves with normally closed, normally open or latching (bi-stable) operation. Many solenoid valve coils are available with UL and CSA approvals.
Stainless steel direct acting solenoid valves also known as poppet solenoid valves will operate at zero pressure, they are usually compact in size (i.e. the HA and ADS series of miniature solenoid valves) and operate quickly. 2-way and 3-way versions up to 150 Bar.
Stainless steel servo assisted solenoid valves also known as pilot operated, floating diaphragm or servo / pressure assisted solenoid valves, these offer high flow. Diaphragm versions (typically used as water solenoid valves) are limited to a maximum operating pressure of approximately 15 bar, piston versions will go to 200 bar. The need for a small diameter equalization hole in the diaphragm or piston means that they can be susceptible to dirt in the media so if this is likely to be an issue a Y Type Strainer filter should be fitted before the valve. Depending on type valves will require 0.1 to 2 bar minimum differential pressure depending on the solenoid valve to fully open the solenoid valve.
Stainless steel assisted lift solenoid valves also known as hung diaphragm or kick pilot solenoid valves - These 2 way solenoid valve series operate at zero pressure like a direct acting poppet valve with the high flow characteristics of a servo assisted valve. The diaphragm / piston is mechanically attached to the armature/piston ensuring the valve opens fully regardless of pressure. These are ideally suited to closed loop and gravity fed systems where high flow is required combined with low differential or working pressure.
